If you are reading this right now, I would ask that you take a moment to complete this exercise with me. Ready? Here we go. I want you to think of the last time you had something to eat. Do you remember what it was? How did it taste? Did you eat all of it? If you answered honestly, odds are you probably enjoyed something rather tasty earlier today. The harsh reality is that approximately 3.1 million children die from undernutrition each year (UNICEF, 2018a). Hunger and undernutrition contribute to more than half of global child deaths, as undernutrition can make children more vulnerable to illness and exacerbate disease (UNICEF, 2018a).

This is why we as a company decided to make a difference one life at a time by giving back. When we think about the vast number of people in need, it can be overwhelming and actually cause us to do nothing at all. The feeling of insignificance can paralyze us when we compare our contribution to the massive needs that exist. However, if you were ONE of those 3.1 million children, wouldn't you hope that at least ONE person would choose to make a difference in your life? That is the approach that we have taken through Project 18:10 (See Matthew 18:10-14).
Project 18:10 is not just an idea that came about one day, these roots run deep! As I type this, I am reminded of my childhood and upbringing on the mission field of the Dominican Republic. I was only a small boy in elementary school when my parents uprooted our entire family from the comfort of a nice life in Cleveland, Ohio. They felt called to bring a message of hope to an impoverished nation that desperately needed it. So in December of 1997 we packed up all of our belongings and moved to Barahona, a small town on the southern side of the island.

Over the course of more than 23 years, we have worked as a family to establish resource centers in several of the surrounding villages. We host frequent medical missions trips to treat common illnesses that could prove to be fatal without basic, affordable medications. We also conduct community outreaches which include building homes for people in desperate need of shelter, providing drinking water through our water purification plant, and my favorite, feeding children and providing medical attention for them through our integral development center, "Bread of Life.” This is where Project 18:10 comes into play! For every renovation project we do, our company takes a portion of the profits and sponsors a child for between six to twelve months - depending on the size of the project.
So what do you have to do? Just hire us to build or renovate your space! Once the job is complete we will use a portion of our profit to sponsor a child. You will receive information with the name, age and picture of the child that was sponsored by your allowing us to do your project.
